Refresher Training of Community Paralegals focusing on People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) and Key Populations

National Federation of Women Living with HIV and AIDS (NFWLHA) in the support of Save the Children, organized a Paralegal Training titled “Refresher Training of Community Paralegals Focusing on People Living with HIV and AIDS (PLHIV) and Key Populations” on 14th to 16th May, 2024 in Dhulikhel, Kavre. The 25 NFWLHA-affiliated community youth leaders who attended the paralegal trainings in 2022 and 2023 were selected by NFWLHA were the participants of the training among which 8 were male and 17 of them were female. The diversity including total Brahmin 16, total Indigenous 6, total Dalit 2 and total others were the participants where 23 of them belong to the age group 18-35 and 2 of them were 36 above. Human rights, fundamental rights, sexual and gender-based violence, relevant laws, right of legal identity, complaint procedures, legal documentation, and elements of national and international advocacy were all covered in the refresher session. In order for the participants' knowledge to be useful to them as paralegals in their community, the training was designed to educate them on the various facets of social issues related to laws, the scope of advocacies, and the revised and updated legal provisions and procedure.
